Saath Plus is an expansion of our Saath Program. While supporting our Saath families in partnership with Peel Children’s Aid Society, the Family Services team at Indus Community Services identified the need for children to have increased safety, security and a sense of belonging in their family homes.

At various times in a parent’s life, they may be unable to safely care for their children. In such situations, Peel Children’s Aid Society may decide to turn to kin providers who can care for children while their primary caregivers are addressing their challenges. Saath Plus at Indus aims to connect with kin providers networks to discuss challenges around kinship, child protection and parenting and to share appropriate tools and resources to families.

The program offers support and resources to these families in order to keep the children with their extended kin providers until they are reunited with their parents. In this manner, children stay connected to their origins, which includes culture, language, and family values.
