  • Liezle Trinidad - Chair

    Liezle Trinidad is an experienced Health professional who works as a Long-Term Care Program Director with the Region of Peel, Long-Term Care Division in the Health Services Department. She has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years with experience ranging from acute, community health, and long-term care. She has worked in a variety of leadership roles demonstrating passion and a person-centred approach supporting seniors health. Liezle leads with confidence and focuses on collaboration to foster positive partnership.

    Liezle holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University, Chicago. She has also completed various certifications in Long-Term Care Management, Change Leadership, and completed the Advanced Health System Leadership Program with the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management through the Central West LHIN.

    She has been actively involved in the St. Michael’s Choir School community as a Junior Choir mom and parent council class representative.

  • Baskaran Rajamani - Vice Chair

    Baskaran is a seasoned board director known for his strong leadership. He has served as Vice-Chair of the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council and chaired the board of the Toronto Chapter of a global association for Information Systems Auditors.

    After a successful 40-year career, Baskaran retired as a Senior Partner at Deloitte, where he led Technology and Digital Risk services for Canada’s largest financial institutions. After his retirement, Baskaran has become a certified Executive Coach.

    In addition to his professional achievements, Baskaran is dedicated to community service, having volunteered for 26 years in Canada and mentored over 500 new immigrants. As an award-winning mentor, Baskaran has helped several immigrants achieve career growth and fulfillment. His volunteer work includes fostering youth leadership and teaching cultural heritage to children of Indian origin in the GTA.

    Baskaran holds a Master’s in Engineering and an MBA, along with several professional designations including CISA and CISSP. His expertise spans governance, risk management, IT, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.

    Board Member since June 20, 2024 and currently also on the Board Committee for Finance Risk and IT.

  • Maryam Aziz - Treasurer

    Maryam Aziz is an experienced finance, business, and compliance advisor with expertise in audit, forensic investigation, internal control and process optimization, regulatory compliance, and risk management. For over six years, she has served as a strategic advisor to several publicly listed entities in the real estate, retail, and lending service industries. Currently, as the Chief Operating Officer of the Board Diversity Network, Maryam oversees the development and execution of organizational strategies, stakeholder engagement, and business development.

    Maryam’s skills encompass leadership, executive oversight, financial acumen, strategy development, risk management, and interpersonal relations, making her a valuable asset to any board. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, Diploma in Accounting, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University.

  • Arshpreet Bedi - Secretary

    Arsh Bedi is a versatile professional with over 5 years of experience in project management, evidence-informed decision-making, strategic planning, and policy development. Currently serving as a Research and Policy Analyst for the Region of Peel, Arsh supports the identification, prioritization, implementation, and reporting of quality improvement initiatives conducted by Peel Public Health.

    Prior to this role, Arsh Bedi held various positions at the Region of Peel such as Early Years and Child Care Specialist, Health Promoter and Community Development Worker. Arsh’s passion for healthcare extends to her role as a Quality and Performance Consultant for Credit Valley Hospital and Evaluation Analysis for Ontario Health where she led initiatives to enhance patient care and organizational efficiency.

    Additionally, Arsh is a certified Project Manager and Lean Sigma Yellow Belt. She is proficient in leading teams and delivering successful outcomes. With expertise in research, strategic planning, and project management, Arsh strives to drive positive change in human and health services.

  • Palash Thakur - Treasurer

    Palash is a Technology and Data Analytics executive with over 25 years of global experience (across Australia, India, UK, and Canada) in Automotive, Insurance, and Financial Services sectors. Currently, Palash heads the Data Analytics and Fraud function for a leading Canadian payments network – he is very passionate about leveraging the power of data, analytics and technology to drive innovation and business transformation.

    A firm believer of giving back to the community, Palash is actively associated with students & new-comers, community organizations and advisory boards. Palash is a strong advocate for promoting diversity, inclusiveness and equity in the workplace and has held voluntary leadership & mentorship roles in several Employee Resource Groups/Networks.

    Palash holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from India and an MBA from Sauder School of Business (University of British Columbia). Palash is an avid sports enthusiast and loves traveling. He resides in Oakville, Ontario.

  • Maninder Girn

    Maninder holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management Accounting and is a CMA and CPA and has been an entrepreneur since 2015. His diverse career includes protecting stakeholder investments by being a Fraud investigator, Internal Audit Director, Foreign Corruption Consultant and Chief Financial Officer of public companies in the US and Canada.

    He currently lives in Vaughan and has been a volunteer with the Seva Food Bank in Canada and was involved with philanthropic endeavours in the United States.

  • Sandeep Gupta

    With over thirty years of experience across the private and public sectors in India and Canada, Sandeep has held diverse roles spanning digital transformation, information technology, strategic planning, communications, and operations. Sandeep Gupta is currently Assistant Director at Student Life, University of Toronto.

    Sandeep holds an engineering degree and has completed professional certifications in enterprise data analytics, project management, and effective leadership from the University of Toronto.

    A founding member of the PEC Alumni Association of Canada, Sandeep is also an active community advocate, contributing to initiatives focused on anti-racism, newcomer support, and senior care.

  • Munish Garg

    Munish is the CFO, at Pillar5 Pharma Inc and has extensive experience, managing the complete P&L from top to bottom, spanning across multiple industries namely pharma, biotechnology, medical devices, and financial services. In addition to the Finance portfolio, Munish also oversees the IT department.

    He is passionate about the healthcare industry on how it impacts people’s lives. Involving himself in community activity is an extension of that passion, where he can leverage his experience, expertise, and artistry in finance.

  • Denise Hutton

    Denise is a senior executive with over 30 years of corporate experience leading organizations through high-growth strategies. She has a track record of transforming companies and delivering high growth rates and has successfully created many strategic business and marketing plans driving profitability. Denise has led successful teams for many organizations such as KFC, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen – a Berkshire Hathaway Company, Maple Lodge Farms/Zabiha Halal, Hudson’s Bay Company, Kal Tire, and highly regulated industries while at Cowan Insurance and Casino Niagara.

    Denise is passionate about building teams with a style that inspires contagious enthusiasm. Denise’s strengths allow her to develop, implement, and monitor end-to-end pipeline strategies, which improve efficiencies and productivity. She’s committed to providing advice with the utmost excellence and leveraging the best out of every situation to achieve financial goals.

  • Aditya Gaggar

    Aditya is a dual licensed lawyer and privacy professional in Canada and India. He currently serves as Group General Counsel and Vice President – Strategy, Corporate Secretary and Data Protection Officer at Wheel King Group, a North American transportation and logistics MNC. He brings to the board expertise in law and policy, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, risk management, privacy and data protection and guidance on formulation and execution of strategic initiatives.

    Before moving to Canada, Aditya practiced law in India for close to a decade. He has enthusiastically contributed to several law and policy projects in collaboration with reputed organisations such as Centre for Communication Governance at NLU Delhi, Justice Adda, Agami and PathCheck Foundation. He regularly mentors young students and professionals at several equity seeking professional organisations such as NCA Network and FACL and serves as an active organiser for several other professional and community organisations. He has also taught Business Law at Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Toronto Metropolitan University.

    As a relatively new immigrant himself, he personally relates to the struggles of newcomers, looks forward to meeting new people everyday and finds it fulfilling if he can help support some of them tide over their overwhelming transitions.

  • Amrit Alex Dhanjal

    Amrit is a seasoned technology and strategy consultant with extensive experience leading transformative projects and driving innovation across diverse industries, including financial services, technology, media and communications. As a retired Partner at KPMG, Amrit managed large-scale tax incentive programs and advised on emerging technologies and strategic initiatives. Amrit brings over a decade of board governance experience from roles with organizations such as the Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA), Clean Air Partnership, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Passionate about community service and volunteerism, Amrit actively contributes to impactful fundraising efforts for various not-for-profit organizations.
    Amrit is a volunteer Advisor with Catalyste Plus (a Canadian Economic Development organization) and holds the P.Eng and ICD.D designations.
    Committed to Indus’ mission, Amrit offers deep expertise in project management, governance, strategic planning, and innovation. With a personal understanding of the critical need for culturally sensitive long-term care solutions, Amrit is dedicated to leveraging his skills and network to support Indus in achieving its strategic objectives.

  • Anil Mathur - Ex Officio

    Anil is an experienced board director with strong leadership credentials as chair of various board committees, and as a seasoned C-suite executive in his corporate career. Anil is the Chair of the Finance, Audit and Human Resources Committee at the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority, and the Vice-Chair of the Province of Ontario’s Central Services Sector Audit Committee, and a member of Employment & Social Development Canada (ESDC) Departmental Audit Committee . He also serves on other not-for-profit boards.

    In his corporate career, Anil was Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Auditor, and later the SVP of Corporate Services at CIBC with responsibility for the Bank’s global real estate of 13 million square feet and $3.5 billion in annual procurement of goods and services. As such, Anil has strong experience in governance roles, as well as in managing a large operational function. He was a member of CIBC’s Executive Operating Committee that was responsible for oversight of the Bank’s global operations.

    Anil’s areas of expertise include governance, risk management, finance, strategy, and technology and holds the CPA CGA and ICD.D designations.
