Services for International Students
Beginning studies as an international student in Canada can be very daunting, especially when dealing with multiple priorities while focusing on one’s education.
Our settlement program helps make the transition smoother with:
- Settlement counselling and orientation to Canada
- Basic employment guidance, and opportunities to participate in job fairs and networking events
- Assistance with various documentation and form filling
- Guidance on accessing healthcare, housing, and other supports
- Referrals to appropriate community resources, government, and social services
Guidance is provided to International Students about Employment Insurance, Canada Child Benefit (CCB), Study & Work Permits, and government supports that they may be eligible for.
Many students face social isolation, workplace sexual harassment, discrimination, internalized racism, mental health challenges, health-related issues, and also could be victims of human trafficking. At Indus, we advocate for students facing these issues and offer support with confidential referrals.
